We took in the racing at Grove Creek Raceway near Grove City, MN, last weekend. They had the Telstar and Showtime AA/FC's there, and a group called the Geezer Gassers. Here's a couple shots of them...

Sioux Falls, SD's Earl Britt's Corvette was in town for the Automania event, and was on display at Billion Chevrolet. The car looked really cool, I wish I had seen it racing.

The Street Rodder magazine 2012 Road Tour stopped in at Bowman's Real Hot Rods in Brandon, SD.

The star of the show was the brand new (just debuted 2 weeks ago) 1940 Ford hot rod, powered by the trick new 5.0 liter Ford Coyote motor. Even though the car just came off the interstate, and went through numerous thunderstorms today, it looked great.

The tour was on the way to the 2012 Back to the Fifties event in St Paul, MN, and stopped at Bowman's for the group to get some much needed maintenance. The '40 Ford was getting an oil change with Amsoil racing oil. Driver Jerry Dixey of Street Rodder magazine said they had put 3500 miles on the rod since the debut.

The car was built by the talented Troy Ladd led group at Hollywood Hot Rods.

I you get a chance to see the car, take it, as it is quite a ride.

Greg Lukes Anglia

All the time I saw this car race at Thunder Valley Dragways (Marion, SD) I never knew what it had for a powerplant. As I was scanning some negatives the other day, I came across this photo. Who'd a ever thunk it was injected small block Chevy powered. I hope you enjoy this photo as much as I do.

Thunder Valley photos by John Eichinger...

I have been asked to post some of John Eichinger's (Aberdeen, SD) photos from Thunder Valley Dragways. These photos were originally posted on the ClassRacer.com website, but the thread was taken down by the administrators when they felt I broke their rules. "They" can't take this one down...
